Direct Shipping Page
As the law changes... Scroll down to see a few of the drastic turns our shipping laws have taken. If you want to show your legislators that you support Indiana's Wineries, check out VINSENSE - an Indiana organization dedicated to consumer's rights. 3/24/06 HB 1016 was signed by the governor today. The new law takes effect on April 1st, 2006. The law will allow Indiana wineries to ship up to 3000 cases per year within Indiana. Indiana wineries may ship wine across state lines as well; the limits for out-of-state shipping will depend on the individual state's laws. Indiana residents may receive no more than a total of 24 cases of wine per year. Wineries are required to use a common carrier, ie UPS or Fed Ex, to ship the wine. The package will be marked in a clear manner stating that it contains alcohol & an adult signature is required upon receipt of the package. If you are an Indiana resident, here is what you are required to do to comply with the new law to place orders for direct wine shipments from Butler Winery (or any Indiana winery): 8/29/07 The Current Law December 2007Face to Face requirement is no more. We may now ship to Indiana residents as long as they are 21 or older, sign an affadavit verifying the purchaser's name, homre or business address, and a statement that the wine is for personal use only, not resale. We must also receive, via fax, mail, or email, a copy of the purchaser's driver's license with the signed affadavit. After that process is completed once, we may legally ship wine to that address.
State law requires that you must be 21 or older to purchase wine. UPS requires a signature upon delivery certifying that you are at least 21 years of age. Please have a state issued ID or driver's license available for age verification upon receipt of package. | ||
