Bloomington – Winery & Vineyards
The Butler family has been growing grapes at our vineyard location since 1991. Our vineyard has grown from just a few vines to now over 7 acres of grapes. The tasting room at our vineyard location has been open since 1998 and has expanded as much as our vineyard. Located just 10 minutes from the NE side of Bloomington, our vineyard sits within the northern boundaries of the Indiana Uplands viticultural area. This region in south central Indiana produces wines of distinctive character.
In our vineyard, we grow Chambourcin, Vidal Blanc, Vignoles, Chardonel, Norton and Cabernet Franc. All of these grapes with the exception of Cab Franc are French-American hybrids. These hybrids offer the disease and cold weather resistance of the native American varieties combined with the flavor aromas of the French wine varieties.
This is where all the magic happens. Most of our wines are made in stainless steel variable capacity tanks; we do also have several French Oak barrels for some of our dry wines and our port style wines. It is the winemaker’s duty to capture the romance of the vineyard and capture it in the bottle. We love making amazing wines from Indiana grown grapes.
Cellar tours are available upon request, as long as our staff is not too busy serving thirsty wine drinkers!
(Cellar tours only available at the Winery & Vineyard location in Bloomington, IN)
Enjoy the vineyard experience to the fullest! Sit outside in our covered patio to enjoy a glass or bottle of wine with your friends. We also offer a variety of crackers and chips, both domestic & imported cheeses, and also a selection of summer sausage & salami if you’re feeling famished.
